Bicycle Day 4.18.15 at The Warfield !
The annual Bicycle Day celebration in San Francisco has grown to be one of the most highly anticipated art & music events of the year. Intending to be much more than just a concert, Bicycle Day focuses on encouraging creativity and creation in a wider art community, while aiming to stimulate the senses of the casual observer.
Globally recognized visionary artists Alex Grey and Allyson Grey have played an integral part in each year’s celebration, working to tie together an increasingly vibrant and diverse visionary art culture. Another fixture of the San Francisco and American urban fusion culture, Sam Flores of Upper Playground fame will also be painting live and showcasing his work.
With the strong involvement of internationally influential artists, performers, and musicians – as well as Bay Area and Colorado based event company Euphonic Conceptions – this event has reached new heights. 2014 culminated in a weekend celebration that took over all floors of the famous Regency Ballroom for two days, with three distinct stages.
Bicycle Day 2015 is on Saturday April 18th at a venue steeped in the cultures tradition, one of the most historic in the nation, The Warfield. The Bay Area’s own Beats Antique headline the evening, with a signature mix of live instrumental electronica and world fusion in tune with a highly theatrical stage show.
The critically acclaimed Emancipator Ensemble, a new breed of live band bridging the gap between jazz, hip hop and downtempo electronica, is also be featured on this stacked lineup.
The genre-defying and fan favorite Thriftworks will also be showcased, with the very latest of his unique style of hip hop-infused experimental bass music which has been known to move audiences from around the globe.
Somehow at the bottom of this enormous bill, the fan-favorite and Shpongle-approved Desert Dwellers are set to whip the dancefloor into a frenzy with their raw sounds, earthy percussion and deep dub grooves.
VIP packages are available, which include an intimate meet and greet / book signing with Alex and Allyson Grey, along with a limited edition Bicycle Day print, prime seating in the balcony and early entrance to the event for a special gallery showing by Tribe 13.
